MARBLEHEAD — Danvers coach Ryan Nolan knew that the only way his Falcons could come out of Piper Field with a win on Friday was to own the line of scrimmage.
Mission accomplished.
Sophomore Zach Fultz ran for 157 yards and two scores while junior Jack Houston added 91 yards as the Falcons stunned Marblehead, 21-7, on the Magicians’ senior night.
“To beat a team like that which we have the utmost respect for is huge. The kids really rose to the challenge,” Nolan said. “I think we got better this week.”
Danvers’ (6-2) double wing offense was perfectly suited to the conditions on Friday. A steady wind that was gusting over 30 MPH at times made passing difficult and the Falcons executed perfectly in the first half.
