STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island Railway trains are delayed in both directions while the NYPD responds to an incident in which an unauthorized person was on the tracks near Grant City, the MTA announced Friday evening.
According to a spokesperson for the MTA, at around 8:10 p.m., a person was taken to an area hospital.
“The investigation into why the person was on the track is ongoing,” said the MTA spokesperson.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, the person did not make contact with the train.
“The person was awake and responsive,” the DCPI spokesperson told Advance/SILive.com.
