Wade Robinson, former dean of student resources at Des Moines Area Community College, is charged with extortion.

The college's board president reported to the Warren County sheriff that Robinson tried to secure a legal settlement in exchange for abandoning his planned candidacy for the board.

Robinson, who's accused the college of Title IX violations, denies the charge.
