3Fairfax, VA – A police officer is under investigation for allegedly running over a woman who had been injured in a previous hit-and-run incident. The Fairfax County Police Department released dashcam footage related to the night of September 23, when Officer Jalin Phillips reportedly struck 62-year-old Trina Jones, a victim of a prior accident in Hybla Valley.

Initial reports indicated that Jones had been struck by a black Mercedes while crossing an intersection. When Officer Phillips responded to the emergency, it is alleged that he ran over Jones a second time, expressing his shock upon impact.

Dashcam footage showed Phillips’ vehicle approaching Jones, who was lying on the ground. Although the vehicle appeared to slow down, it did not stop in time, and Jones’ form was no longer visib
