WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A Woodford County food pantry is preparing for an influx of families as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, is expected to end Nov. 1.
Gov. Andy Beshear announced last week that the federal government ordered states not to distribute next month’s SNAP funds. In preparation, several Woodford County organizations and agencies discussed how to combat food insecurity during this time.
The stakeholders decided to launch a food drive for the Food Pantry for Woodford County to ensure its shelves are stocked as more people seek help.
