Lake Charles, La. (KPLC) - McNeese State University’s president’s house is one of the last buildings on campus to receive a remodel after hurricanes Laura and Delta.

In the meantime, McNeese President Dr. Wade Rousse and his wife have been living in student dorms.

“It just became unlivable. A lot of water entered the building, mold, and mildew started taking over and just the time sitting there just because there is a process of dealing with insurance and as many people know that could take a while,” said director of facilities and plant operations Richard Rhoden.

Built 60 years ago, the president’s home is a historic structure that has endured three hurricanes.
