The federal government shutdown is moving into its second month Saturday with a number of key milestones in sight.

Nov. 1: Federal assistance under the nutritional program formally known food stamps would normally arrive.

Nov. 1: Open enrollment for 2026 Obamacare marketplace plans begins, through Jan. 15.

Nov. 5: This government shutdown ties as the longest in U.S. history, 35 days.

Nov. 15: The next paycheck comes due for active duty members of the military.

Nov. 21: The expiration date arrives for the temporary spending bill that remains the focus of the shutdown stalemate.
