PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - US 23 is shut down in Coal Run Village in Pike County, Kentucky after two pedestrians were hit.

It happened Friday evening near the intersection by Rural King, according to the mayor Andrew Scott.

The mayor says traffic is being rerouted in the area.

He went on to say traffic could be affected into Saturday morning.

First responders are asking drivers to find an alternate route in the meantime.

No other information has been released at this time including an update on the conditions of the two people hit.
