KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Kanawha County Sheriff’s deputies began investigating late Thursday night after two men say they found human remains on a dirt access road in Cabin Creek.
Richard Pack, who lives nearby, said, “Definitely a little scary, you know anytime anything like this happens in your neighborhood without hearing anything or seeing anything. It’s definitely got us a little more on edge.”
Kanawha County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jeremy Burns said investigators worked overnight to gather evidence and eventually confirm the remains were human.
“It was very dark and to make sure we could do a thorough investigation, we secured the area with several different detectives until the next day when daylight broke, so that way we could see and work the area a little bit better,” Burns said.
