LOWER GWYNEDD — No. 12 Unionville started its District 1-5A playoff opener against No. 5 Wissahickon with two three-and-outs and a turnover on its first three possessions of the game and fell behind by two touchdowns.
The Longhorns offense wasn’t stopped the rest of the night and their defense didn’t allow another point.
Unionville defeated Wissahickon, 27-14, Friday night at Wissahickon High School.
“We knew (Wissahickon) was a good team,” Unionville senior Brody McLaughlin said. “Really the biggest change (after the first three drives) was our guys up front. We came out and tried throwing the ball a little bit. We know at the end of the day our game is running the ball. Our guys up front knew that and once they figured out their line, it was go time from there.”
