(NewsNation) — The Connecticut woman accused of holding her stepson captive for 21 years in squalid conditions has been allowed access to the stepson’s new identity, address and medical records.
On Friday, a judge granted the request from the defense team of Kimberly Sullivan, who is charged with kidnapping, unlawful restraint, cruelty and reckless endangerment. Attorney Ioannis Kaloidis said his client sought the information on constitutional grounds.
“Every defendant is entitled to know the name and address not only of their accuser but (also) the witnesses,” he told “Banfield” on Friday. “It was the state that was seeking to withhold information. … the judge applied the law appropriately.”
