True patriots must stand in resistance

Donald Trump said recently that protesters “hate our country.” This couldn’t be further from the truth. Millions are protesting because we love our country and cherish our democracy.

The Trump administration’s rapid advance into authoritarianism should be alarming to any American paying attention. Basic human rights are being trampled, and our First Amendment rights are in jeopardy. Like a bully taking our lunch money, Trump grabs our tax dollars and gleefully shares them with his billionaire cronies. With an agenda straight out of a dictator’s playbook, he has an enemies list and pursues these perceived “enemies” with no regard for our Constitution.
