‘I was working at this restaurant,” Chris Barron said. “I was 19 years old, and I got a phone call at work from this young woman that I’d always really liked. She asked to meet me later on that night.”
“Things hadn’t ended that great between us, so I was wondering if she was mad at me, or if things were going to work out after all,” he said. “My shift ended, and I walk outside and a friend of mine’s big brother, who we all really looked up to, he’s like, ‘Chris, man how you doing?’ And I was like, ‘Well I just got a phone call from this chick.’ And he was, like, ‘Well just go ahead with that.’ I (said), ‘She might be mad at me,’ and he (said), ‘Just go ahead now,’ and he kept saying, ‘go ahead now.’”
