For a brief moment on Friday night, the Toronto Blue Jays thought they’d be a hit or two away from possibly winning the World Series.
In one of the wildest ninth innings you’ll ever seen, the Blue Jays somehow came away from zero runs after many fans in attendance thought they’d tied it.
Addison Barger hit a ball to nearly the deepest part of the ballpark, which ended up being stuck in the outfield wall. While Barger crossed home plate on what looked like perhaps the unlikeliest of inside-the-park home runs to tie the game, he was forced back to second on a ground rule double, while lead runner Myles Straw was forced back to third.
