Through the first nine batters of Friday night’s Game 6, Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman appeared to be in store for a historic night.
Gausman struck out all three batters he faced in the first inning. He got two more in the second and a couple more in the third before Will Smith stepped to the plate. After that, everything changed.
With the Jays one win away from clinching their first World Series title since 1993, Gausman opened the door just a smidge and the Los Angeles Dodgers barrelled right through to keep their season alive.
