INDIANAPOLIS — There was no shortage of candy on Halloween night , thanks to trunk-or-treat events like the one Friday at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. About 3,000 kids and their families filled their bags with sweet treats.

"It's just so rewarding to see all these kids come through. Some of them really go all out with their costumes," said Ray Allison, the chief operating officer with the Indiana State Fair.

Superheroes, princesses and movie characters filled the fairgrounds. For the kids, it was all about the candy. For parents, it was a stress-free way to celebrate.

"Sometimes it's hard to go house to house with everything going on, so we came out here, and it was lovely," one parent told us. "Lots of candy, happy kids and I'm happy I don't have to go to multiple places."
