Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse quarterback Rickie Collins was in uniform when the Orange faced North Carolina on Friday night, joining his team on the sideline only days after losing his starting job and warming up his arm each time there was a break in the action.
Despite a difficult week, Collins appeared willing to play for the Orange during its 27-10 loss to North Carolina on Friday night, and head coach Fran Brown said he briefly considered putting the quarterback into the game as the offense sputtered and desperately needed someone capable of pushing the ball down the field.
