LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
In the 143rd edition of the Old Rivalry, Manual gets to keep the barrel for the second straight year.
The Crimsons ran all over the Bulldogs in the regular season finale to win, 52-13, marking back-to-back wins in the series.
Manual ran for 289 yards in the first half, starting with a 48-yarder from Jeremy Presley on the Crimsons' first play of the game.
A couple of plays later, the Bulldogs tied the game on a 7-yard touchdown pass from Leon Melvin to Colin Jefferson with 6:28 left in the first half. After that, it was all Manual.
Both Manual and Male advance to the Class 6A state playoffs, which start next week, and could face each other again in the second round.
First, Male plays Pleasure Ridge Park, while Manual hosts Fern Creek.
