Luke Tucker, assistant regional director for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of New Mexico, was in Roswell Tuesday hoping to recruit more volunteers into the mentoring program for children in Chaves County, much as he has been able to do in Otero County in recent months.
The Otero County BBBS was recently named the top performing program in New Mexico, Tucker said, and due to its success, he said he has been tasked with rebuilding the program in Chaves County.
He said Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Mexico has recently consolidated from having several districts in the state to having one statewide organization.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a nationwide nonprofit which pairs children, known as "littles" who are in need of mentorship, with one-on-one volunteer mentors, known as "bigs," who
