RIDGEFIELD — Brian McLemore III had two long touchdowns in the second half as Ridgefield beat Woodland 17-16 with a postseason berth on the line Friday.
Ridgefield (5-4, 5-2) finishes tied for second in the 2A Greater St. Helens League and advances to the state preliminary round.
Woodland (5-4, 4-3) saw its season come to an end. The Beavers finished in a fourth-place tie with Mark Morris, but it’s the Monarchs who advance to a mini-game against Aberdeen for a postseason berth thanks to their 10-7 win over Woodland last week.
McLemore’s second touchdown, a 32-yard pass from EJ Rovira, proved to be the game-winner with 6:47 to play.
It came less than two minutes after Woodland had taken a 16-10 lead on an 11-yard touchdown run by Dayton Morris.
