SAHUARITA, Ariz. (KVOA) - A serious multi-vehicle accident along Interstate 19 has left a child critically injured and four people with minor injuries.

The crash happened just after 6 p.m. Friday on Interstate 19 northbound near kilometer marker 75. The wreck left traffic at a standstill before it was cleared around 9 p.m.

Crews found a four-vehicle collision, involving eight people at the scene, according to the Santa Rita Fire District. The crash left one vehicle on its side and severely damaged.

The five injured individuals were transported to Banner University Medical Center in Tucson.
