The post-mortem examination of Jan Suraaj Party supporter Dular Chand Yadav, who died during campaigning in Mokama , Patna district, has revealed that his death was caused by a ruptured lung and multiple rib fractures, with cardiac arrest also mentioned as a contributing factor.

The autopsy report rules out the initial belief that Yadav succumbed to a gunshot wound.

Earlier, doctors who conducted the examination said the bullet injury on his ankle was not fatal.

Dr Ajay Kumar, part of the three-member team that performed the autopsy, had said, “Yadav did not die from a gunshot. He was shot near the ankle joint. The bullet was not the cause of death as it was not deadly at all.”
