Nativity Preparatory School New Bedford celebrated its 25th anniversary with a gala Oct. 18, honoring founder Barry Hynes and raising support for its mission to provide tuition-free education to boys from under-resourced families.

The event brought together alumni, faculty, trustees, community leaders and supporters to recognize the school’s impact and future goals, according to a community announcement. Speakers included Richard Roller, chair of the board of trustees; Mike Herlihy, former board chair; New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell; and Christian Garris, head of school.
