Millions of Filipinos gathered at cemeteries across the Philippines on Saturday to observe the annual tradition of visiting tombs of their dearly departed to mark All Saints' Day.
Residents in the capital Manila braved the heat and large crowds while carrying flowers and candles to be placed at the graves of their deceased loved ones.
For generations, All Saints’ Day has continued to serve as a family reunion among relatives who, by tradition, faithfully keep vigil at the tomb of their departed loved ones.
Maria I-Locre visited the tombs of her parents and her youngest son.
“I just offered some candles, flowers and prayed. I offered to the above, their eternal rest of their souls,” she told The Associated Press.
