Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone for SiCSem Private Limited’s ₹2,067 crore Compound Semiconductor Facility at Info Valley, Bhubaneswar.

This landmark event marks a bold step toward transforming the state into a hub for advanced electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.

The facility, approved by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), will receive a capital investment of ₹2,067 crore. It will generate over 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. With an annual capacity of 60,000 wafers and packaging capability of 96 million units, the plant will produce critical components for electric vehicles, defence systems, railways, and renewable energy.

In addition, the state will establish a ₹64 crore Research & Innovation Centre at IIT Bhubaneswar.
