CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia National Guard is helping several dozen food pantries this weekend in hopes of providing SNAP recipients food while the federal government shutdown continues.

Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced Friday an additional $2.5 million in state money for the food distribution efforts.

Two federal judges have ordered President Donald Trump to fund SNAP with emergency monies but Trump said Friday night he needed additional guidance from the court.
