A grooming gang based in Rochdale, parents of a little boy mauled to death by dogs and a killer who stabbed his own mum to death just three of the criminals locked up in the region in October.

Other offenders put behind bars include a stalker who harassed a motivational speaker after meeting him for two minutes, a predator who attacked vulnerable people in Manchester's the Village and two violent teenage thugs who used alias profiles to find their victims on Facebook Marketplace.

Greater Manchester courts gave out hefty prison sentences for all manner of crimes this month.
