Norfolk County’s top cop says it is commonplace for his officers to find alleged drug dealers packing heat and the numbers bear that out.
Ontario Provincial Police announced 11 street-level drug-trafficking busts this year in Norfolk. In five of those cases, police said the accused dealers were in possession of firearms.
The latest incident saw two people arrested on Wednesday as officers searched an address on Windham Road 14 in Simcoe looking for stolen property.
In a predawn operation that included tactical officers and the canine unit, police found quantities of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and hydromorphone on the premises, along with drug-related paraphernalia and cash.
