SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn — While most people are sleeping, Dollywood staff are wide awake, working around the clock to turn the park into a winter wonderland. This time of year, employees stay especially busy spreading Christmas cheer one twinkling light at a time.

The park reopened Wednesday after being closed for three days to prepare for the Christmas season .

“On weeks like this it's it's go, go, go until the wheels fall off,” said Justin Howard, who works as a special events technician at the park.

Howard starts his shift at night and works until early the next morning. During his busiest season, Howard says he can start working at 8 p.m. and work through 6 the next morning.
