The couple hadn't been to the local food pantry since January, but they decided it was time to return as realization sunk in that the food assistance they relied on would cease due to the federal government shutdown.
Wesley Bratcher, 33, who works at a welding company, and Jerri White, 30, said they drove to Britvil Community Food Pantry hoping to obtain enough food to help supplement the groceries they purchased to feed their five children.
