President Donald Trump on Friday said he asked a pair of federal courts for clarity on their rulings about Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funding.

A federal judge in Massachusetts issued an order Friday stating 25 states suing the Trump administration over failing to fund the nation’s low-income food program, would likely win on the merits.

The U.S. District Judge, Indira Talwani, in a 15-page order issued on Oct. 31, one day before benefits were set to expire, wrote that the administration was “required to use ... Contingency Funds as necessary for the SNAP program.”
