WEST NYACK – The Social Security office in West Nyack, which was slated to end in-person disability benefits hearings, will continue to do so. That message was delivered in person on Friday by Commissioner Frank Bisignano who came to the Rockland County office.

He said the agency wanted to protect the office as the only one to hear benefits challenges in the Hudson Valley.

“The president has made it very clear: protect and preserve. We’re going to strengthen it. We’re going to be a digital first agency, but always on the field. These field offices are vital for people who want to come see someone and talk to them. We are 100 percent of Americans’ retirement planning, not all of it for some, and for some, it’s all of it,” he said.
