The Weyburn Police Service responded to 77 calls for service from October 19 to 26. Here is a look at notable events from the week.

On Thursday, officers were called to a disturbance caused by a 16-year-old boy. Investigation revealed the boy had threated to harm two women. Because of the nature of the incident and concerns for public safety, he was charged for uttering threats and released to a parent under conditions with a future court appearance.

The week saw more than eight hit-and-run accidents this week alone, part of a year-over-year increase. The WPS is reminding drivers that leaving the scene of an accident causes far more severe consequences than reporting the incident through the proper channels.
