Let’s start with some good news — the kind that makes you proud to be a North Dakotan. Companies like Meta, Google and Amazon are scrambling for compute power right now, and guess where they’re looking? North Dakota. We are at the epicenter of this global race for data, energy and innovation. That’s an enormous opportunity for our state.

Here’s why: Compute power doesn’t come out of thin air — it comes from energy, something North Dakota has in abundance. In this game, energy equals megawatts, gigawatts and opportunity. That puts us squarely in the catbird seat. If we can keep leveraging what we have — and maybe move ourselves just a little closer to the sun — who knows, maybe we should give Elon Musk a call. He’s always looking for a new frontier, and we’ve got the watts for it.
