A Bothell man is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing his wife in a premeditated attack early Monday morning in Shoreline.

Casey McNerthney, a spokesperson for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (KCPAO), confirmed the charges against Hector Gonzalez Medina, 43.

“In this case, the defendant is accused of waiting for about 40 minutes under a tree and then shooting at the victim, in this case, through the passenger window of a vehicle, and then shooting some more,” McNerthney said. “Those are really difficult details to read for the many people who loved this victim.”

Prosecutors said a witness told police they overheard Medina threaten to kill Hana Gonzalez over the phone the night before the shooting. Medina is accused of waiting outside a friend’s apartment
