PATERSON, N.J. (PIX11) -- Two adults and three children were killed in an overnight house fire in New Jersey, according to Paterson Fire Department Chief Alex Alicea.
The victims were recovered from the second floor of a Paterson home along Emerson and Totowa Avenues just before 10 p.m. on Friday night, fire officials said. Additionally, 11 residents in the area were also displaced by the fire.
Despite firefighters making an aggressive attempt to battle the flames, the fire spread rapidly through the home because of heavy winds, Chief Alicea reported.
Officials were not yet able to provide any details on the identity and ages of the victims or the cause of the fire.
