Motorists traveling on Interstate 78 East in Lehigh County will face nighttime lane restrictions due to upcoming construction work scheduled for early November, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation says.
The lane restrictions will be in effect between Exit 57 (Lehigh Street) and Exit 60 (Route 309), impacting the City of Allentown, Salisbury, and Upper Saucon Townships.
A PennDOT contractor will be performing the construction work from Sunday through Friday. The restrictions will be in place nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., and motorists should expect delays and use caution when driving through the work zone.
Officials note that weather conditions could affect the project timeline, as rain may cause delays.
