Syracuse, N.Y. — Last fall, both Cincinnatus and Copenhagen took home sectional titles.
This fall, only one will advance to the state tournament.
Cincinnatus won the Class D title in 2022 and 2023 before moving up to Class C and winning that title last year. With the Lions out of the Class D bracket, Copenhagen won the sectional title on penalties over Hamilton and advanced all the way to the state championship game.
Cincinnatus dropped back down to Class D this fall, and despite a loaded field that included challengers like LaFargeville and Fabius-Pompey, these two teams seemed destined for a championship game matchup.
