A cruise that left a grandmother stranded on a remote, deserted island where she was later found dead has been cancelled. ‌

Suzanne Rees, 80, was reported missing when she didn't show up for dinner after visiting Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The grandmother was subsequently discovered deceased on the island, which was the first stop of the £40,000-a-ticket 60-day tour around Australia. ‌

On Wednesday, passengers were informed the rest of the journey had been cancelled due to the "tragic passing of Suzanne Rees and previous mechanical issues", according to Mark Fifield, CEO of Coral Expeditions, who made the announcement on Saturday. ‌
