DES MOINES, Iowa ( Iowa Capital Dispatch ) - An Iowa-licensed nurse who has been accused of repeatedly violating regulations in at least six states over a period of seven years is accused of offering to financially “take care” of an employee in an effort to cover up her own wrongdoing.

The Iowa Board of Nursing has charged 48-year-old Andrea Marie Meisinger, formerly of Altoona, Ankeny and Grimes, with professional incompetence and with having her nursing license sanctioned by other jurisdictions.

While the board has not disclosed any information as to what led to the charges, regulators in other states have publicly detailed a long history of alleged violations related to Meisinger prescribing weight-loss drugs to patients in states where she wasn’t authorized to do so.
