BYRON, Minn.-Byron Public Schools has been trying to inform voters at over 25 different community engagement sessions in the lead up to a referendum on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

The district is putting two main questions up for a vote an operating levy that would provide around $700 per student to help maintain staffing and class sizes and $250,000 to update the school's cyber security and electronic devices.

With around 2,300 students currently enrolled across the district the first vote could total around $1.61 million, which the district says would cost around $34.75 a month in property taxes for homes priced around $350,000.

The second question would only cost around $3.75 per month for similarly priced homes, but the district says it can't pass if the first question is doesn't pass.
