Lily Stout was in her high school film class when several students walked in to give a presentation about Tempe Sister Cities and their time abroad the previous summer.
Later, she spoke with a friend who had gone to Ireland with the same program and decided to apply for June 2025.
Lily was among the more than 20 other students spent the summer around the world, only to return to Tempe to share American culture with the foreign students who later became some of their best friends.
Tempe Sister Cities has partnered with nine cities around the world to offer a cultural exchange program that allows students to spend 3 weeks in another country and 3 weeks hosting in the United States, completely free of cost.
