At least 52 students from a state-run welfare hostel for boys in Telangana’s Jogulamba Gadwal district were hospitalised on Friday night after they complained of vomiting and stomach pain following dinner, officials said.

The students, all from the BC Residential Boys School in Dharmavaram, were taken to a government hospital where doctors confirmed on Saturday that they were clinically stable.

According to officials, around 110 students had eaten dinner at the hostel around 6:30 pm, after which several began experiencing stomach cramps and vomiting. The students said they were served sambar, rice, and cabbage curry before falling ill.
