With 8:34 left and Dutch Fork leading Irmo 28-7, its visiting fans began to outcheer the W.C.Hawkins Stadium faithful.

It all changed in a matter of 94 seconds. Britton Davis replaced starting Yellow Jacket quarterback Dre’Von Dopson and threw two touchdowns to revive the home fans’ support.

He had Irmo poised to either tie or take the lead with 32 seconds left. Incompletions on third and fourth downs put an end to those hopes as the Silver Foxes held on for the 28-21 win.

The win clinched the Region 4-5A title for Dutch Fork (8-1, 5-0), its 15th under Knotts. It also snapped Irmo’s 27-game home-winning streak dating back to September 2021.
