BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 2, and officials urge people to use the occasion to check batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms.
Leaders said that checking batteries in alarms following a time change should be second nature for most people.
“These days, as many clocks fall back automatically, it’s especially important for this reminder to reach every Louisiana household,’ said Chief Bryan J. Adams with the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office. ”Take a moment right now to put ‘change your clocks, change your batteries’ on your to-do list for this weekend.”
While replacing batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms, you should also consider the age of those alarms. According to the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office
