PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Crews rescued a person who was trapped in a vehicle after an early morning crash on Interstate 74.
Just after 2 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, Peoria firefighters and paramedics were sent to reports of a car crash on I-74 eastbound, said Peoria Fire Department Battalion Chief Rick Waldron.
The crash was between the Gale Avenue and University Street exits.
Arriving crews found one mid-sized truck off the side of the highway. Waldron said the vehicle had rolled multiple times and was upright on its wheels.
One person was found trapped in the vehicle. Crews used hydraulic tools, including the "Jaws of Life" and a cutting tool, to get the person out of the truck.
They were removed and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
