Hamilton police are searching for a suspect after a 17-year-old was bear sprayed and stabbed at a Halloween party.

There were between 90 and 100 people at the Halloween party at a house on Shelby Avenue, near Barton Street East and Strathearne Avenue, said Staff Sgt. Greg Slack. The house was a short-term rental.

The party ended and a couple of people remained to help clean up, when shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday four unknown people showed up, he said.

There was a “tussle” with the 17-year-old renter. Bear spray was used and the 17-year-old suffered minor stab wounds.
