LAHORE: Pakistan batter Babar Azam has created history by becoming the highest run-scorer in international T20 cricket. He achieved the milestone by surpassing Indian star Rohit Sharma’s long-standing record. The feat came during the second T20I of the series against South Africa. Babar needed just nine runs to overtake Rohit’s tally of 4,231 and went past it after scoring 11 runs.

Babar now has 4,234 runs in 130 T20 internationals, which include 34 half-centuries and three centuries. His achievement is even more remarkable as he recently made a comeback to Pakistan’s T20I side after a one-year gap. Although he was dismissed for a duck in the first match, he bounced back in style to set a new world record in the second.
