A residential street has been taped off by police after an incident, with forensic officers reportedly at the scene.

Castle Road in Chatham is blocked to pedestrians and traffic between the junctions with Victoria Road and Reform Road.

A witness - who does not wish to be named - told KentOnline: “There are at least four police cars and a team of forensics.

“The road has been shut to all traffic and pedestrians between Victoria Road and Reform Road, including the junction with Listmas Road.

“It appears to be a serious incident.”

The 164 Arriva bus has reportedly been diverted due to the cordon.

Police have been contacted for further details.
