CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - An investigation is underway in Cape Girardeau after an incident overnight.

According to the Cape Girardeau Police Department, officers were called to the 600 block of Morgan Oak Street just before 2 a.m. on November 1 for a report of an assault.

When they arrived, the officers found a female victim who died from her injuries.

The Cape Girardeau County/Bollinger County Major Case Squad has been activated.

At this time, police say no one has been arrested.
